Judy Jaffe-Schagen
Judy Jaffe-Schagen is an independent historian and part of the research group Cultural Heritage at the Reinwardt Academy, Amsterdam. She is granted courtesy privileges by CLUE+, the Interfaculty Research Institute at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. Her PhD research focused on the affect of location on the relationship between people and objects and the role museums play in the formation of nation states. Currently she is conducting research on the interaction between museums and memorial sites, and, with a grant from the Taskforce for Applied Research (SIA), studying the role heritage professionals play in commemoration practices relating to the Shoah and the slavery past. judyschagen@gmail.com
